Gallery tours can be used to introduce a topic, to teach a topic, or to reinforce/review a topic. A guided tour can be a great way for your students to see what is happening in their community and to enrich and reinforce what they are learning in the classroom.
The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas offers one-hour guided tours for groups to help visitors understand what they see in the galleries and how exhibits connect to their lives. We also offer 30-minute art workshops in conjunction with tours.
Tours are meant to be a learning experience, and they are developed to support state and regional public schools' goals for learning, and can be applied to all types of curricula. The Center's Education Department encourages active questioning and discussion about exhibitions. Our education staff and volunteers are trained to provide the best experience possible for groups of all ages.

Financial Aid
We understand that this cost is low but still may be too much for students of limited resources. The Center has a limited amount of scholarships to apply to tours and tour/workshops. The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas continues to offer bus subsidies to schools in our ten-county service area, including driver's costs ($5.50/hr.) and mileage (25 cents per mile). Contact the Education Department, two weeks before your class visits, to plan a bus subsidy.
