Nano: What's the Big Deal? Learn about the world of the very small! Nanotechnology: This nationally designed nanotechnology exhibition introduces the basics of nanoscience through several “mini exhibit” components. At the ultra-tiny nanoscale, materials exhibit unique properties and often rely on self-assembly techniques to form useable nanotechnology. See what a billion (and one-billionth) of something looks like, manipulate the size of a quantum dot to see its strange, changing properties, and watch as floating “molecules” move themselves into an orderly pattern on an air hockey table. A special NanoDays, full of nano activities such as building a giant balloon nano cell, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Center. Fun for the whole family Visitors will learn how doctors at Arkansas Children’s Hospital use nanotechnology every day to help patients. This exhibit is offered through the Center’s participation in Arkansas Discovery Network, a consortium of seven museums in Arkansas funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. |
