Aug. 12-16--
Jump on board an almost-real rocket to search for an imaginary planet of Nostrodimium in this free hands-on kid’s exhibit.
After takeoff each member of the crew conducts a battery of scientific studies on this newly chartered planet using highly interactive exhibits. The special “exhibit in a truck” comes to the Center thanks to a generous grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation--Museum on Wheels

June. 2008: Artsmart: Where can kids go this summer to learn about art and engineering, science and building and have fun doing it? Artsmart, a free interactive educational exhibit, is now open at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., Pine Bluff. The exhibit combines hands-on arts activities with the FETCH! Challenge Lab from the popular PBS kids' television show. Recreating the colorful, energetic feel of the popular television show, the Center's FETCH! Lab is a place where kids can try science and engineering challenges like the ones they see on the show. Part game show, part reality TV, and part spoof, the FETCH! Challenge Lab featuring Ruff Ruffman targets 6-10 year olds. |

Starting at the turn of the 20th century, the way of life is depicted in the photographs of J.C. Coovert, which then moves into a series of photographs, by Roland Freeman, known for documentation of the Civil Rights Movement. Stuttgart native Eric Maynard, Director of the Delta Rivers Nature Center at Pine Bluff, will provide the present-day photographs of life in the South.
