Razzle Dazzle, Variety Showcase for All Talent in Southeast Arkansas

Razzle Dazzle is returning to the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas stage Nov. 4-7, 2010.

This year’s theme – following up on 2009’s successful Razzle Dazzle Feeling Good – will be Razzle Dazzle 2010 Feeling Better. Songs will include Broadway show tunes ranging from some very new numbers to memorable songs from classic shows. Newer sounds will be from the shows Rock Of Ages, a production built around 1980s rock hits; We Will Rock You, based on the music of the rock band Queen, and Mama Mia, based on the music of ‘80s band ABBA. Classic numbers will come from musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, 42nd Street, Lion King, Damn Yankees, Little Shop of Horrors and Jersey Boys.

“Once again the theatre community reunites to showcase the wonderful talent Southeast Arkansas has to offer in another Razzle Dazzle. This tradition began several decades ago to raise funds for the Arts & Science Center and was such a hugely successful event, it has been recreated many times to the delight of theater goers and center supporters each and every year,” says director Matt Soto.

The cast will reprise the 2009 production with several new voices as well. Tickets range from $16 to $20. Opening night performance includes a reception with the cast after the show. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 4-6, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7.

The center, located at 701 Main St. in Pine Bluff, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday and closed on Sunday.
