The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, founded in 1968 and commissioned by the City of Pine Bluff in 1971, is operated for the benefit of all citizens of Southeast Arkansas.

The mission of the Arts & Science Center is to provide opportunities for the practice, teaching, performance, enjoyment and understanding of the arts and science. Underlying those efforts is the belief that the arts and sciences preserve and transmit our heritage, enrich our lives, and contribute significantly to the social, cultural, educational, and economic well being of Southeast Arkansas.

The Arts & Science Center will accomplish its mission through the following program of work:
  • Collect and preserve works of art, holding them in public trust for present and future generations.

  • Exhibit and interpret works of art from the Permanent Collection and from local, regional, and national sources.

  • Present a variety of performing arts events for children and adults including community and professional productions.

  • Provide science exhibitions and activities with an emphasis on enriching the curricula of area school systems.

  • Offer a broad array of educational services that involve active participation of the learner.

  • Serve a diverse audience including youth, adults, senior citizens, ethnic groups, and the physically and economically disadvantaged.

  • Cooperate with other organizations having similar purposes.
